Release 10.1A: OpenEdge Development:
Programming Interfaces

Accessing COM object properties and methods

Progress supports direct access to COM object properties and methods. This support extends the syntax used for widget attribute and method references. Other than syntax validation, Progress does no compile-time checking of property and method references. All other property and method validation occurs at runtime, when all COM objects are (dynamically) instantiated. Thus at runtime, Progress dispatches each property or method reference to the COM object for evaluation and execution.
